“Signature Business Solutions provide a level of service that is simply unparalleled anywhere in the business. In 10 years of working with service providers I have never encountered a more committed, dedicated, relentlessly driven team.”

The annual Vitality Supplier Awards is a prestigious event hosted to recognize exceptional suppliers and celebrate the contribution they make to the Group’s success.

Awards categories include New Supplier of the Year, Most Innovative Supplier of the Year, Account Manager of the Year, Service Provider of the Year and Supplier of the Year. Being nominated for one of these categories is a feat in its own, as the Vitality Group has over 1,000 suppliers. SBS UK had the honour of being nominated in two categories for the 2020 awards.

As a company, SBS has been working closely in partnership with Discovery in South Africa close to 15 years and expanded in the last 6 years to Vitality based in the UK as part of their international business development.

Companies nominated for the 2020 Vitality Supplier Awards include leaders in their fields, often with a high staff complement and mature operations in various areas supporting the Vitality group e.g. Ascenti Health Limited who provided a digital triage system for muscular skeletal needs, Ember Services Limited speech analytics for calls and Teleperformance, a global company with 330,000 employees across 460 contact centers in 80 countries.

The criteria for the Service Provider of the Year award includes provision of a service to Vitality above and beyond expectation and showing consistent and exceptional levels of service. The nomination needs to be supported by fantastic feedback from more than three stakeholders in the business and their performance had to be evidenced.

What does the UK team do for Vitality?

The SBS UK service offering includes the end-to-end control environment framework using the iCompare software suite from source via data transformation (integrating with 20+ core systems), allocations, various levels of reconciliations, accounting maps, -postings and reporting; processing over 2 billion transactions p.a. across all Vitality business units. The value the SBS team adds is not only in the numbers, but their understanding of the business and associated processes as a whole, being responsible for implementation from start to end including requirements, design and post-implementation changes and support on site or part of Vitality teams with minimal turnaround times.

Solutions are approached very similarly to the Vitality shared value model by leveraging off synergies created between business units and focusing on innovate future-proof solutions and reporting the results in the form of real-time dashboards or other MI often used as is by Exco (300+ reports are distributed to over 500 users). The service is provided by a small agile team of highly skilled and experienced individuals always going above and beyond. This often means services are provided without prompt as extension of scope requirements by providing additional input in processes or value-added outcomes based on an understanding of the whole Vitality ecosystem.

Congratulations to the SBS UK team winning this coveted award, it is well-deserved.
